A lot has changed since two Rheem brothers acquired a small galvanizing plant in the 1920's. Today, with plants in Arkansas, Alabama, and Georgia, the Rheem Air Conditioning Division is one of North America's largest manufacturers of quality furnaces and air conditioning products for home and light commercial use.

We use computerized technology and state-of-the-art equipment in planning and producing our heating and cooling products--from the first design phase to the last quality-control check as units roll off the assembly line.

But some things haven't changed. Namely, our company philosophy. Simply stated, it says: "Design it right, build it right, and it will work right!" But words alone aren't enough. We're a "people" company, and as such, we believe everything we do begins and ends with people. Those ideals are as sound today as they were more than 70 years ago. And frankly, we see no reason to change them now.

The Criteria for Quality and Reliability

As part of our commitment to producing the very best cooling and heating equipment in the industry, we have invested a great deal of time and effort in earning ISO 9002 certification for all of our manufacturing facilities.

Overseen by the International Standards Organization, ISO 9002 is an international program designed to help companies monitor and improve the quality of their products. The program doesn't impose a specific set of quality standards on manufacturers. Instead, it looks at a whole range of elements having to do with quality at each manufacturing plant.

ISO 9002 certification means a company has passed a series of independent audits showing it has a modern quality control system in place that should assure consistent quality products to the marketplace.
